The Company was incorporated as a limited liability company on the 15th of August 1962 and commenced business in 1967. The company was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on the 4th of October, 1993. Its principal activities are the manufacturing and sales of cement. SCANCEM International ANS of Norway, member of the HEIDELBERG Cement Group, are the core investors and Technical Managers of the company. By acquisition of the Federal Government of Nigeria's shares in the year 2000, they are the largest individual shareholders.
